Spring May Finally Be Here :0)

I looked out my playroom window, and saw these pretty purple flowers. We had planted them last year, and they Sprung back up :0) Does that mean spring is finally here? It is beautiful outside. In the low 70's. I hope it stays this way.

Seth in his soccer uniform. He's on team Spain :0)

Coy in his soccer uniform. He's on team Australia :0)

It is becoming harder & harder to get a good picture of the two of them together :0P

Happy Easter

We had a very busy day.

The boys had fun hunting the Easter Eggs first thing this morning. I was instructed by the oldest not to put the eggs in the same place I always do. He doesn't believe in the Easter Bunny anymore :0( He wanted some eggs outside, but it so wet & cold. We did hide, I mean the Easter Bunny did hide some on the front porch this time :0)

They finished hunting, and dug into their baskets. They were full of way too much candy, and junk they didn't need. They loved every bit of it, though :0) It was tough getting them to eat some breakfast, so we could get ready for church.

We headed on to church, and helped w/Creation Celebration. It is really a privilege to be able to serve in this area. It is easy service. I really only have to teach for about 15 minutes because the kids rotate through rooms every 15-20 minutes. Ask any 4 or 5 year old @ our church what Easter is about, and I don't think you will hear any stories about a bunny. The kids have really been listening to Mr. Ken. He does the Bible story rotation.

After church we went to my mom's for the annual egg hunt @ Grandma's. The kids found way more eggs than they knew what to do with. We ate lunch, and then I had my traditional nap on the couch ;-) I woke up just in time to head on over to the in-laws for supper ;-)

Now it's time to go to bed. Coy is patiently waiting for me to pray w/him, so I guess I will say goodnight. I will try to post pictures from the day tomorrow. GOODNIGHT :0)

Good Friday

Hello, and Good Friday to you. :0) Most of the people I know of that read my blog, probably already know this. The Johnson's adoption was granted from the Malawi courts. Here is a picture I copied from Crystal's blog.

There is still other paper work that has to be processed, before Crystal can return to the U.S. w/Savannah. Please continue to pray for this family.

I received an email from Lordes :0) She said she is excited. She has checked out our family via this blog. She checked out our church here. She checked out the town here. She checked out her school here. Isn't technology cool :0)

Well we are starting out spring break week pretty well. The temp. here today was 70. It was a sunny, beautiful day. Tim took the boys to the greenway to ride bikes. They stopped at the Mexican restaurant just off the trail, and ate lunch. Fun times for the boys.

I took advantage of the alone time to get some Easter shopping done. Fun times for the mom :0)

There are 3 services planned for Easter @ church. Hope you all are making plans to attend.

No big plans for this week, we'll just decide as we go along. It'll be nice to have some down time. If anyone has any simple, fun, close place to go ideas--let me know :0)

Please Pray for The Johnson's

Some friends from church are adopting Savannah-Hope from Malawi. Crystal is there now. They rescheduled the court date for this Thursday. Please pray that everything will be in order for a smooth adoption. You can follow the story on their family blog. Go here.

Meet Lordes :0)

This is Lordes. She will be joining our family during the upcoming school year, as a Foreign Exchange Student. She lives in/near Cadiz, Spain. She will be here from about Mid-to-late July, and stay until school is out the following May. She will be a Sophomore. I am excited about this opportunity for our family, and for her. We got official word yesterday, and I have emailed her to say hello. I am anxiously awaiting an email back. Please pray for this to be a wonderful journey for us all :0)

Weekend Family Fun

We had a wonderful fun filled weekend. It started out Friday night @ Coy's school. The PTO sponsored a Magic Show. The boys had fun heckling the Magician, and trying to figure out how he was tricking them :0) (Sorry, I didn't get any magic show pictures, I know you are terribly sad)

Saturday morning we went to Daddy's work, Nissan, for their annual Easter Egg hunt. It had rained like crazy Friday night, so they didn't exactly hunt. They just put huge totes of candy out for the kids to help themselves to. They also had a juggling act. The guy was super funny, and both boys were able to help w/the show. It was hilarious. Proud moments for mom :0)

We finished off Saturday night w/the Rodeo. It was our first, and the kids had a blast. We were close enough to all the action, that Seth got dirt thrown on him by a barrel racer's horse. It was definitely something the boys would love to do again.

Hope you all had just as fun a weekend.

Foreign Exchange Student

Does anyone have any experience, or opinion on hosting a foreign exchange student? We are praying about this for the upcoming school year. I contacted the coordinator for the program yesterday, and she has already sent me a student profile. She of course told me all the wonderful things about the program, and I really think it would be a neat opportunity.

We have been praying about adding to our family, and the boys really think they want a sister. I thought this would be a nice way to see how things would be w/another person in the house. Among a few other changes, the boys would have to share a room.

I also would love to learn to speak Spanish. I asked for a Spanish speaking girl. The profile she sent me is a girl from Spain. She has two younger brothers. Either she would feel right at home w/Coy & Seth, or cheated out of getting away from the boys :0)

I would love to hear from anyone who has had any experience w/a foreign exchange student-- good or bad.

Look what I got. . .

I have been talking to Tim about getting a tattoo for a long time, and finally here it is:

It is on my hip. Tim has a big needle phobia, so my good friend Darby went w/me. This butterfly will remind me of the special bonds I have made serving the Lord in Mexico.

Linolium, Tile, & Shingles-- Oh MY :0) Continued . . .

I had posted about a month ago about all the work that has been going on around here. We are finally getting finished up, and I am really liking the way things have turned out. Here are some pictures of the kitchen tile. It will probably take me a few posts to get all the stuff on here. I know you all just can't wait :0) . . .

The yellow stuff is some sort of membrane they recommend you put down, so if the concrete under the tile cracks it will not crack the tiles:

This is Scott hard at work cutting and laying out all the tile, my father in law is "supervising" :0)

This is all the tile layed out, before he mudded, and grouted:

Laying the tile on the mud:

Close up of the finished tile:

Right after we finished the tile, they came & put our roof on. The week after that, they started on the drywall & paint repairs. That was only supposed to take 1 week, but he just finished today--almost 3 weeks later :0(. That's ok though it is finally finished, and it looks great. I need to clean/dust, then I will take pictures of it all & post them. We also finished the upstairs bathroom, that I had started just before the tile. I will post those pics next. Right now I need to go clean :0)
